Your Own Private Sauna Retreat on the Skykomish River

Located at The Landing in Index, Washington, Paddler's Cove is a private, riverfront campsite with sweeping mountain views, direct access to the Skykomish River, and everything you need for a comfortable outdoor getaway. Your stay also includes private, self-managed access to Evergreen Sauna, a wood-fired sauna just steps from the river.

Paddler's Cove accommodates up to 6 guests and includes:

Your Private Sauna

During your stay, you'll have exclusive, unlimited access to Evergreen Sauna—a handmade, authentic wood-fired sauna.

The sauna stove will be pre-loaded, so all you need to do is light the fire when you're ready. Step by step operating instructions are provided inside. The sauna typically reaches 180–200°F and is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 8 people, making it ideal for couples, families, and small groups.

Your sauna experience includes:

  • Private access for your group

  • Authentic wood-fired heat

  • Sauna bucket and ladle

  • Water for creating steam

  • Essential oils

  • Space to cool down outside by the river

  • Self-managed use on your own schedule

No shared sessions. No strangers. Just your group, your campsite, and your own private sauna experience.

Good to Know

  • Camp + Sauna is only available on Friday and Saturday nights

  • This site is only for guests 18+

  • Maximum of 6 guests

  • Sauna is for the exclusive use of your camping group

  • All sauna guests must follow the sauna rules and sign a waiver

  • Pets are welcome at the campsite, but not inside the sauna

  • Check-In is 2pm

  • Saturday Check-out is 12pm

  • Sunday Check-out is 10am

  • Weekday reservations are available at The Landing’s website but do not include private access to the sauna.

  • Yes! We offer community sessions every Sunday at 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm. Book a spot through this link.

  • Please Bring:

    • Two towels (one to sit on inside the sauna, and one to dry off with)

    • One bathing suit

    • Water and electrolytes

    • Sandals, flip flops, or crocs for walking around outside the sauna

  • We like to say that the sauna seats eight strangers comfortably or ten close friends.

  • Yes! We allocate 15 minutes between sessions for wiping down the benches and sweeping/mopping the floor. You may see some leftover leaves under the benches from a previous venik session, but we’ve found that the leaves give off a pleasant aroma.

  • Our reservations are non-refundable.

  • Alcohol is not allowed in the sauna and anyone under the influence is not allowed to use the sauna.

  • No, sauna use is only for registered guests of the campsite.

  • The sauna stove will be pre-loaded with firewood and kindling so all you’ll need to do is light the fire and add logs as needed. Written operating instructions are provided inside the sauna.

  • No. Please use the designated tent sites.
